DirectionsThe write-up
Hamilton pool itself now needs a timed reservation months out. The creek that feeds it, above the reserve boundary, does not — and the same limestone shelving and the same clear green water run for a good distance upstream. It is emphatically not the famous collapsed grotto, and it is also not full of people who booked in March.
- Best window
- Spring, when the creek is actually running.
- Watch out
- Flash flooding is the real hazard in this drainage, not the walk. Do not go in on a storm forecast, upstream or not.
- Access
- Unposted, unenforced, and not technically yours. Your call.

What people found
Dated, because conditions rot. Newest first.

Creek was dry in August last year — completely pointless trip. April was perfect.
